I had a very upsetting fail on my kitchen lighting recently. It doesn’t happen too often, but I hate the lights I picked. It’s partly my fault, but not entirely. The glass disks don’t hang anything like they did in the photo, some of them are broken and don’t fit, the bulbs show, and the lights are, well, junk that has since been discontinued. You get what you pay for sometimes. The kitchen is a mess here and the lights would probably look better in a staged photo, but I hate them so much that I don’t mind showing you at their worst. I don’t want to tell you that they are from Pottery Barn, but I know you’ll ask. They discontinued them quickly, and I’d bet it was for quality reasons. I still love Pottery Barn and think they usually do much better than this, but what a bummer:
So, I’m changing them. I don’t really need to reinvent the wheel here, and want something safe and easy that I can have installed in a week before a party I’m hosting (I know, crazy, but I’m going to try). These are my final two contenders:
Which do you like? One or two?
Here area couple other must see deals:
And then these. I really, really considered these and am sure will try them somewhere soon. They are only $88:
Ok, enough about lights and on to the post. Today’s 50 Favorites are from three separate home tours. It’s hard to believe so much beauty in contained in just three homes. My favorite is the second, where there is real beauty to be found in the imperfections. I hope you enjoy!

Here are the rest of the lights I considered for the kitchen. There are some very high end ones in here that I lusted after and dismissed, but there are also some VERY good deals here that I highlighted at the top of the post. Click any to view:
